With Kyle Lowry and Kevin Martin out, Courtney Lee and Goran Dragic takes over Houston

The backcourt for the Houston Rockets are talented as they take over the starter position. With the injuries to Kevin Martin and Kyle Lowry, the emergence of backcourt experience has settled in with former Orlando Magic guard, Courtney Lee and fast paced guard, Goran Dragic. They are in a tough spot in the Western Conference as they fight for the 8th spot. How will they be next season when everyone is healthy?

Stay or Go for Dwight Howard?

We've seen the media. Dwight Howard's relationship with coach Stan Van Gundy has been going downwards ever since the trade rumors but now after the notice of the stars back surgery today, it looks like the situation will be moving in different directions. The problem is who is out?

Without Kobe, Lakers Still Win

The Los Angeles Lakers has proven against the rest of the league they are still a force to be reckon with without their star, Kobe Bryant. Today the Lakers defeated the Dallas Mavericks and from the sideline, Kobe was still part of the game with his coaching with Mike Brown. With Kobe Bryant back, they will be a serious contender this year.

Big Man to Little Man in OKC

Video says it all. Enjoy!

Orlando Magic Continues to Struggle Without Howard

With all the ups and downs, the Orlando Magic are desperate to have Dwight Howard back if they want to move over the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs. The team is struggling without the double teaming from Dwight Howard. Their three point percentage is going down if they continue to have Glen "Baby" Davis at the center. Will the Magic be ready when playoff comes?

Chicago Bulls: The Team to Fear

With Derrick Rose back into the lineup, it seems the team didn't need him in clutch situations in the fourth quarter and overtime. Normally, I would say how the team needs him. But last night, it just shows you how deep the Bulls team were when then won against Miami Heat. I wonder how tough Chicago Bulls would be if Derrick Rose is 100% healthy.

NBA's Future: Anthony Davis

Once this big man comes into the league, how much of an impact will he make? Which team will grab him? After winning the NCAA title, it has come to attention that he will change the franchise around just like how Lebron James and Dwight Howard have with their team. Will Davis lead the team that picks him into a contender?

Where will Rajon Rondo and Dwight Howard end up?

Many rumors are revolving around these two players. Some say they might just end up on the same team. Who knows until the trade deadline on March 15.

If Rajon Rondo was to be traded, there are several teams who would want him. LA Lakers are in desperate of a young and experienced point guard. They have Derek Fisher but he seems to be past from prime years. It doesn't seem a bad idea for him to play with Dwight Howard in Orlando but how much would they have to give up for a superstar like Rondo?

Going to Dwight Howard, any team in the league would want him because he would dominate the game on both sides of the floor. The Orlando Magic needs to trade him before the deadline or else he leaves for another team during free agency. Dwight Howard needs to make a tough decision and he needs to make it quick.

Better Power Forward: Blake Griffin or Kevin Love?

Well. It depends on what you want. If you want to see dunks and style points you would go see a game for the Los Angeles Clippers. But if you want dominating rebounding and scoring then you would have to go to a game of the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Neither has a go to post move but Kevin Love's jumpshot has been sweet especially from the 3-point line. He nailed a game winner against LA Clippers this season.

They both work hard but I would have to say Kevin Love has slight edge over Blake Griffin at this point until Griffin has improves on his post plays.

Knicks vs Mavericks

Jeremy Lin and the New York Knicks has been on a rough stretch over the last two weeks but they face the Dallas Mavericks tonight who they have won against in their winning streak. How will they redeem themselves tonight against the defending champions?

Kevin Durant Rule

Thanks to Kevin Durant, some of these players are getting their moneys worth thanks to his rule. Jeremy Lin, Russell Westbrook, and last season's MVP are benefiting from this rule. How is this going to affect salary cap since it remains to be unchanged?

Where should Dwight Howard Go?

Well it's obvious he wants to play with other stars. Imagine the Knicks got Dwight Howard instead of Amare Stoudamaire. Would've been a champion contender with the team right now. But he's playing it through having monster games against the leagues best Oklahoma City Thunders. If he goes to the LA Lakers will Jameer Nelson be part of the deal? How about the Nets? How much will they have to give up for a huge superstar like Dwight Howard? Why does the analysts like Craig Sager have to make his moment so complicated? We wish the best for Dwight Howard.

Greg Monroe robs John Wall during Rising Stars Challenge

How pissed do you think John Wall was?

All-Star Slam Dunk Contest Best Dunk

Anyone thinks there was a better dunk last night?

Second Half Surge

Many team are having a successful season so far such as the Miami Heat, Chicago Bulls, Oklahoma City Thunder, and the surprising San Antonio Spurs. Which teams need to improve? Well, the Knicks have to continue the momentum they have with the emergence of Jeremy Lin as their starting point guard. Other teams such as Memphis Grizzles needs to show what they are capable of against the rest of the elite Western Conference teams. Once Zach Randolph is healthy, the Memphis Grizzles with the a force to be reckon with his return. A deep roster including O.J. coming off the bench and Marc Gasol and Rudy Gay having to handle the scoring load. The eighth spot is hard to grab considering many teams chasing for that spot such as the Pheonix Suns and the Golden State Warriors.

Speaking of the Golden State Warriors, the roster they have is acceptable of competing for a playoff spot as well. With Nate Robinson and Klay Thompson coming off the bench, they have a solid bench and also a solid coach of Marc Jackson. Not a bad team to root for when they have Monte Ellis and Stephon Curry running the show. All they need is a big man such as DeAndre Jordan who the Warriors were trying to lure but remained with the L.A. Clippers. Going back to teams that improve, the Boston Celtics are struggling due to injuries from Rajan Rondo and the absence of Jeff Green (health problem). There are other teams in my mind that need to reshape but let's enjoy the show at the All-Star game.

All-Star Weekend in Orlando: Too Much Hype?

We expected much more last night from the All-Star Weekend. The slam dunk contest seemed pretty dull except a few of the dunks from Paul George and Jeremy Evans. Not sure about this but most of us would like to see a dunk contest featuring stars such as Lebron James and Blake Griffin. We saw Griffin last year but when is Lebron going to back up his talk? Could it be next year at Houston?

Kevin Durant Career High 51 points

It's amazing at the point of his basketball career to have just 51 points as a scorer. Don't forget about Russell Westbrook who had 40 points in the game as well. James Harden struggled on the floor but if two of these players have a decent game like today, then they'll be fine.

Spurs Going For 10th Straight Win

We all know the Knicks 7 game winning streak ended but the San Antonio Spurs quietly are going to a 10th straight season. It's not surprising how well they're doing once Manu Ginoboli was reinserted into the starting lineup. The Western Conference better watch out as they climb into the 2nd spot behind the Oklamhoma City Thunders.

Bismack Biyombo Season high 7 Blocks

With the Charlotte Bobcats struggling, it seeming to become a rebuilding season with young players starting with Bismack Biyombo. Starting as center over Bryon Mullens, the Charlotte Bobcats choose a more defensive minded player, Biyombo who recorded 7 blocks. D.J. Augustin came back and had 10 assists to go along with 11 points as they defeated the Toronto Raptors with the score of 98-91 on the road.

Jeremy Lin on NBA.com's Top 10 for MVP!

Wow. It's amazing how much hard work can accomplish. Everyone is noticing his presence and impact on the New York Knicks winning streak. It has been an unbelievable week for him and to see his name on a list behind Lebron James, Kevin Durant, and Kobe Bryant. He must be feeling great for himself but not tonight as they their first lost when Lin is starting. You can't win every game Jeremy Lin.

J.R Smith to the Knicks

With the addition of J.R. Smith to the knicks, we can see more offense off the bench and defensive similar to Iman Shumpert. Their backcourt is pretty crowded so we might be seeing Landry Fields or J.R. Smith playing the small forward position. What will happen to Bill Walker? Someone will be out of the rotation just like Toney Douglass. Bill Walker will be slashed in minutes when Carmelo Anthony comes back but if the Knicks continue to win, then Walker will be more than happy to sit on the bench enjoying wins.

Calm Down Everyone, Its OK!

Okay. So the Knicks lost one game since Jeremy Lin has started. It's not that of a big deal. Now that the New York Knicks have their point guard position set and Carmelo Anthony is coming back from his groin injury, they should be okay. I must say their interior is a little weak with Amare at the four.

All Star Weekend Dunk Contest

Are the four contestants this year going to be better than last year? We're not sure. But what we do know is that Iman Shumpert, Paul George, Chase Budlinger, and Derrick Williams will be the ones competing. I see Derrick Williams stepping up in this contest because he has to prove to people out there why he is the number two draft pick of last year.

Place of the Month: MSG!

The atmosphere in MSG right now is the reason why it's the worlds most famous arena. Who would've thought at this point of the season Jeremy Lin would be the Knicks starting point guard. I would've thought it would be either Baron Davis/ Mike Bibby/Iman Shumpert/Toney Douglass. No one would have guessed it would be an undrafted Harvard graduate who would get the starting role. Since Coach Mike D'Antoni has given the starting job to Jeremy Lin, He has average 24.4 points and almost 10 assists in the last 7 games. Jeremy has been so consistent because the system works for him so well. What a year so far, first the New York Giants winning the Super Bowl against the New England Patriots, and know THIS. This year is definitely New Yorks year.

MIP (Most Improved Player) Update

Rumors of the Jeremy Lin show are indeed true, even President Obama is talking about "Linsanity". Believe it or not, it isn't a dream. With the New York Knicks on a 6 game winning streak, Jeremy Lin is my guy for the Most Improved Player award. There are also a couple of players out there competing for the title as well. We start out with Marcin Gortat, the big man who played behind All-Star Center Dwight Howard. He is averaging around 15 points and 10 rebounds per contest proving he can cherish in Alvin Gentrys system. Not far behind is James Harden whose carrying the scoring load when Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook are not on the floor. His scoring went up because the Thunder needs him to step up and play a bigger role when the starts are resting. Other two people who I believe should be on the list are Anderson Varejao who has been active when he's playing and doing all the dirty work and Bryon Mullens who similar to Jeremy Lin's case but not having the impact near what's Lin having on the Knicks.

Best Starting 5's in the NBA

As well as one of the most deepest roster, Oklahoma City Thunder can take the honors with Russell Westbrook, Kevin Durant, Thabo Sefolosha, Serge Ibaka, Kendric Perkins, as well as James Harden coming off the bench playing a huge scoring role. There's also the Portland Trailblazers who have Raymond Felton, Wes Matthews, Gerald Wallace, Marcus Camby and All-Star forward, Lamarcus Aldridge with Nicolas Batum and Jamal Crawford coming off the bench. In the Eastern Conference, it would belong to the Chicago Bulls who contain Derrick Rose, Richard Hamilton, Luol Deng, Carlos Boozer, and Joakim Noah. Other suggestions would be Philadelphia 76ers and the Denver Nuggets. That's why all of these teams are championship caliber teams would are going to go deep into the playoffs.

In order from top to bottom, my top 5 would look like this:
1. Oklahoma City Thunders
2. Portland Trailblazers
3. Chicago Bulls
4. Denver Nuggets
5. Philadelphia 76ers

All Star Weekend 3 Point Contest

We already know Ryan Anderson and Kevin Love are in this years 3 point contest. Who else do we want to see? A well deserving candidate would be Steve Novak who has been helping the Knicks during their 6 game winning streak. Maybe Chris Bosh, who's improving his range. We've seen Blake Griffin take and hit several threes play for the Clippers. There's many more out there like James Harden, Matt Bonner, Klay Thompson, and Mike Miller. Can't wait for this years All Star Weekend in Orlando.

Jeremy Lin's Amazing Journey Continue!!

What a game on Valentine's Day!! With the game on the line, Jeremy Lin ensured the game wouldn't go to overtime. An isolation play against the crafty Jose Calderon, Lin pulled up for a top of the key three for the game winning shot. Down by as much as 17 points in the first half, the Knicks climbed back and were down by five points with two minutes to go. Then Shumpert stole the ball away from Calderon and dunked the ball. Down by three. A defensive play by Chandler led to an And-1 play by Lin when he drove into the lane and was fouled while making the shot. Now the game is tied by 87. Another Toronto missed shot gave Knicks a chance to win and that's when the Jeremy Lin show happened. A solid game by Jeremy Lin and Amare Stoudemire led to another victory for the Knicks who are now on six game winning streak. As an interviewer of MSG says, Will the "Jeremy Lin" era continue?

In the next 10 years who will win the most championships?

Many have said the Miami’s Big Three can win multiple titles or the young OKC team who has an average age of 25 despite having Kendric Perkins at the five. Can anyone else surprise? Tell me what you think and leave your comments below!!

Point Guards past their prime in the NBA

Enough of the Jeremy Lin talk, speaking of point guards which PG would you want that's passed their prime but can still ball? There's Steve Nash, who was a back to back MVP who can still play the pick and roll or the pick and pop with a versatile big man. How about Andre Miller? Not the fastest guy on the court but could post a guard down if needed to or his pull up mid range jumper. Can't underestimate him when he's competing for a spot against the young and restless Ty Lawson who is the Denver Nuggets starting PG. Remember Derek Fisher? That's right. He's still in the league. He was the one who kept a hopeless season alive. His clutch plays are also the reason why Kobe Bryant has championship rings. If your team needed a point guard, which of these three would it be?

What if... Jeremy Lin was picked up by the Lakers?

What if Lin was a Laker right now? If his success landed on the Los Angeles Lakers, would he have had as much attention as he would on the Knicks? Think about it. Running the show alongside Kobe Bryant and two 7 footers. They would probably go deep into the playoffs meanwhile the Knicks would have gone downwards without Lin running the offense. Reality-wise, he is on the Knicks putting on a show in front of homecrowd and on the road. How long will this last?

How much pressure is there on Jeremy Lin?

When people interviewed Jeremy Lin, he must've had pressure being center of attention. But instead he believes the media should be focused on the whole Knicks team and organization. Even though the Knicks played with no stars on their five game winning streak, they played as a team and that's what matters most at this point. Lin credited his performance from the help of his teammates especially Jared Jefferies, Iman Shumpert, Landry Fields, and let's not forget Steve Novak, who has connected over 63 percent of his threes during their five game winning streak. Poised and humble as Lin is, what will happen after the season is over? Will the New York Knicks resign him or move in another direction?

Who needs Opportunity?

With opportunity and persistence, Jeremy Lin stepped up at the right moment where the he needed the Knicks and more importantly, the Knicks needed him. With a year and a half waiting and playing backup along Monte Ellis and  Stephon Curry, Jeremy Lin was waived off of the Golden State Warriors and later on his career, the Houston Rockets. Fortunately, the Knicks saw something in Jeremy Lin and decided to fill up their last roster spot with him. Who would’ve known on the first game of the season, Iman Shumpert was going to be injured. Signing Baron Davis was key but his condition wasn’t ready to run the Knicks. Toney Douglass had to run the point for the first few games which looking at the stat sheets, Carmelo Anthony was doing most of the dishing. Needless to say, injuries and opportunity allowed Jeremy Lin playing time and took advantage. He led the Knicks to a four game winning streak. I know what other people are saying out there but I believe there are players out there like him if giving the time, can produce points and wins for their team.

Take C.J. Watson. We know he’s a shoot first point guard. But if he’s surrounded with stars, it allows him to score and hand out assists to his wide open teammates because he can penetrate through the lane like any aggressive PGs when they are healthy. On the other hand, the Chicago Bulls do have Derrick Rose, last NBA seasons MVP, so his time on the court will be limited. Due to a back problem Rose is currently having, Watson can run the show for couple of more games until Rose comes back from his injury which is important to watch out considering the shortened 66 games.

Welcome to my Basketball World!

Feel free to comment as you like! I'm a huge fan of sports especially basketball. As you all know by now, a guy by the name of Jeremy Lin is taking over the NBA. A couple of days ago from today, he went head to head with the “Black Mamba”, Kobe Bryant, and had a career night of 38 points! Can you believe he scored more points then he did when he played for Harvard? An unbelievable journey and the guy deserves it! And to top it all off, he’s playing for the New York Knickerbockers!!! What else could he be doing? He’s living his dream out there! A hardworking kid and he should cherish the moments he’s having right now because it doesn’t come often. What a week for Jeremy Lin and we’re hoping he can carry the momentum into the rest of the season. We just hope once Amare and Carmelo comes back, Jeremy still fits in the system. The Knicks needed a point guard and they got it from the end of the bench.
