Who needs Opportunity?

With opportunity and persistence, Jeremy Lin stepped up at the right moment where the he needed the Knicks and more importantly, the Knicks needed him. With a year and a half waiting and playing backup along Monte Ellis and  Stephon Curry, Jeremy Lin was waived off of the Golden State Warriors and later on his career, the Houston Rockets. Fortunately, the Knicks saw something in Jeremy Lin and decided to fill up their last roster spot with him. Who would’ve known on the first game of the season, Iman Shumpert was going to be injured. Signing Baron Davis was key but his condition wasn’t ready to run the Knicks. Toney Douglass had to run the point for the first few games which looking at the stat sheets, Carmelo Anthony was doing most of the dishing. Needless to say, injuries and opportunity allowed Jeremy Lin playing time and took advantage. He led the Knicks to a four game winning streak. I know what other people are saying out there but I believe there are players out there like him if giving the time, can produce points and wins for their team.

Take C.J. Watson. We know he’s a shoot first point guard. But if he’s surrounded with stars, it allows him to score and hand out assists to his wide open teammates because he can penetrate through the lane like any aggressive PGs when they are healthy. On the other hand, the Chicago Bulls do have Derrick Rose, last NBA seasons MVP, so his time on the court will be limited. Due to a back problem Rose is currently having, Watson can run the show for couple of more games until Rose comes back from his injury which is important to watch out considering the shortened 66 games.
